Our commitment to Lapland
Sustainability at Kettura Finland
We are based in one of the purest places on Earth. The Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park has the cleanest measured air in the world. We take our duty to protect it seriously.
Local & Seasonal
We point guests to local restaurants, guides, and activities that keep tourist spending in the area. We have checked every partner we suggest in person.
Waste & Recycling
All cabins have full recycling stations for glass, plastic, paper, bio-waste, and mixed waste. These follow Finnish local council rules.
Energy Efficiency
Good insulation, smart heating, and modern controls cut energy use. Finland's power grid is already one of the cleanest in Europe.
Protecting Nature
We follow Leave No Trace rules and help guests treat the national park and nearby wild areas with care.
Community
We support the Kittilä area by hiring local cleaners, repair teams, and small businesses all year round.
Responsible Tourism
We promote slow travel, longer stays, and trains over short flights. Quality over quantity — fewer guests, richer trips.
Sustainable Travel Finland
The Sustainable Travel Finland (STF) programme is run by Visit Finland / Business Finland. It helps tourism businesses use greener methods that meet global standards. Kettura plans to apply for the STF label as part of our pledge to mindful tourism in Lapland.
Our goals match Finland's Carbon Neutral 2035 plan — the boldest climate target of any country. By choosing Finland, you are visiting a country that takes caring for nature seriously at every level.
