Question 1

Where exactly are your cabins?

Accepted Answer

Our cabins are in two of Finnish Lapland's top resorts — Levi and Ylläs. Both are inside the Arctic Circle in the municipality of Kittilä, about 150km north of Rovaniemi.

Question 2

Is WiFi available?

Accepted Answer

WiFi availability is listed for each cabin. Please contact Kettura to confirm the connection and facilities for PikuPoikka or IsoPoikka before booking.

Question 3

Do the cabins have saunas?

Accepted Answer

Yes — every Kettura cabin has a private Finnish sauna. It's non-negotiable for us.

Question 4

How do I get to Lapland?

Accepted Answer

The nearest airport is Kittilä (KTT), with direct flights from Helsinki year-round and seasonal flights from European cities. Levi is 15 minutes from the airport; Ylläs is about 40 minutes. You can also take the overnight train from Helsinki to Kolari.

Question 5

Do I need a car?

Accepted Answer

A car is helpful but not essential. Airport transfers can be arranged, and both resorts have local shuttle buses during ski season. For summer, a rental car gives you the most flexibility to explore.

Question 6

When is the best time to see the Northern Lights?

Accepted Answer

The aurora season runs from September to March. Peak viewing is December to February when nights are longest. Both Levi and Ylläs have very low light pollution — you can often see the aurora from your cabin.

Question 7

What is there to do in summer?

Accepted Answer

Summer in Lapland is extraordinary — the midnight sun doesn't set from early June to mid-July. Activities include hiking in the national park, mountain biking at Ylläs Bike Park, fishing, canoeing, berry picking, and simply enjoying the endless daylight.
