What makes Finnish Lapland special
Your Lapland Holiday
Finnish Lapland is a year-round destination that offers something truly different in every season. In winter, the landscape transforms into a snow-covered wonderland with temperatures dropping to −30°C. The ski resorts of Levi and Ylläs offer downhill and cross-country skiing, husky safaris, reindeer sleigh rides, snowmobile excursions, and some of the best aurora borealis viewing in the world.
During the polar night in December and January, the sun barely rises above the horizon, but the sky glows with shades of blue, pink, and violet. By February and March, the light returns with long sunny days and deep snow — the most popular months for skiing and winter activities.
Summer in Lapland is equally magical. From early June to mid-July the midnight sun never sets, creating endless golden hours perfect for hiking the fell trails, fishing in pristine lakes, picking wild berries, and exploring the vast wilderness. Autumn brings the spectacular ruska season when the fells blaze with red, orange, and gold.
All of our cabins are located within the Levi and Ylläs ski resort areas, giving you easy access to slopes, fell trails, restaurants, and activities while enjoying the peace and privacy of your own Finnish cabin. Every property includes a private sauna, and we provide detailed local guides to help you make the most of your stay.
Getting here is easier than you might think. Kittilä Airport (KTT) serves both Levi and Ylläs with direct flights from Helsinki. The flight takes just 90 minutes, and from the airport it is a short drive to our cabins. We provide detailed arrival instructions, and car hire is available at the airport. You can also travel by overnight train from Helsinki to Kolari, which is a scenic and comfortable alternative.
Dining and local culture: Levi village has a wide range of restaurants serving traditional Lappish cuisine — think reindeer stew, fresh salmon, and cloudberry desserts. Ylläs offers a quieter dining scene with excellent fell-side restaurants. All of our cabins have fully equipped kitchens if you prefer self-catering, and local supermarkets stock everything you need.
Whether you are visiting Finnish Lapland for the first time or returning for another adventure, our cabins in Levi and Ylläs provide the ideal home base. Book direct with Kettura Finland for the best rates and a personal service from hosts who know Lapland inside out.
