2. What this policy covers
This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share personal data when you visit kettura.com, contact us, subscribe to our newsletter, or make a booking enquiry. It does not replace the privacy terms of third-party platforms (for example Airbnb) where you complete a paid booking - those platforms have their own policies.
3. Data we collect
We may collect the following categories of personal data:
3.1 Information you provide
- Contact form: name, email address, subject (where provided), and message content.
- Newsletter: email address when you subscribe to the Kettura Journal.
- Booking enquiries & correspondence: any details you share by email, phone, or form when asking about cabins, availability, or stays (for example preferred dates, party size, and contact details).
- Seasonal staff / other forms: information you voluntarily submit if you apply or enquire via pages on this site.
3.2 Automatically collected data
- Analytics: we use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-Q0XBNMZFD8). Google may set cookies or use similar technologies and collect technical data such as pages viewed, approximate location (derived from IP), device/browser type, referral source, and interaction events (for example form submits or outbound link clicks).
- Server & security logs: our hosting and application infrastructure may process IP addresses and request metadata for security, rate-limiting, debugging, and reliable delivery of the site.
We operate a cookie-consent banner using Google Consent Mode. Non-essential analytics cookies are set to "denied" by default and are only enabled after you choose "Accept"; if you "Decline", analytics storage stays disabled. Your choice is remembered in a first-party kettura_consentcookie, and you can change it at any time by clearing that cookie or your browser cookies. You can also use your browser settings and Google's tools (see section 8).
4. Why we use your data (purposes & lawful bases)
| Purpose | Lawful basis (GDPR) |

| Legal, accounting, or regulatory obligations | Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)), where applicable |
We do not use your personal data for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
5. How long we keep data
- Contact submissions: retained while needed to handle your enquiry and for a reasonable follow-up period (typically up to 24 months), unless a longer period is required for an ongoing matter or legal claim.
- Newsletter subscriptions: kept until you unsubscribe or we delete inactive records. Unsubscribed addresses may be retained in a suppression list so we do not email you again by mistake.

We do not sell your personal data. Some providers may process data outside the UK/EEA. Where that occurs, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK/EU adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses used by those providers.
7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR / EU GDPR (as applicable), you may have the right to:
- Access a copy of your personal data
- Rectify inaccurate data
- Request erasure ("right to be forgotten") in certain circumstances
