Berry & Mushroom Picking in Lapland
Finland's 'everyman's rights' (jokamiehenoikeus) mean you can freely pick wild berries and mushrooms anywhere in nature, including the national park. Lapland's forests are full of blueberries (July–Aug), lingonberries (Aug–Sep), and the prized cloudberry (Aug). The cloudberry grows in bogs and is known as Lapland gold. Mushroom season runs August to September with chanterelles, boletus, and more. Your cabin kitchen is the perfect place to turn your picks into jams, pies, and sauces.
